“I don’t know”

We had a problem with our website (malware infection – yuck!), and I have been trying to figure it out for a couple weeks. We don’t have a web-person, I do the site on my own, and this problem was way beyond what I know. When I spoke on the phone with my hosting company today, they tried keeping it simple for me. However, as happens, they started getting too technical. I told them “Talk to me like I am a child.” I explained, “I do the site, but I am a dog trainer and my knowledge of web stuff is limited.” It is so refreshing to be blunt about the limits of what I know!

Why am I sharing this?

It applies to everything!

No one person knows it all.

If you act like you know what you do not, you end up confused and going no where.

Instead, speak up when you do not understand.

Chances are, the person at the other end will be happy to know that you are involved and interested in what they have to say.

This is what happened with our hosting company, they went above and beyond for us. They are working on fixing the issue and making sure it does not happen again.

When you are working with us, thru personal training, board & train, group classes, or just chatting on the phone, if you do not understand, please ask us to clarify. We know that you do not live and breathe dog training, and want to give you the tools and information you need to communicate better with your furry friend.
